Tukinainen
Professional help for recovering from sexual assault and abuse.

 

Tukinainen, the crisis centre for persons who have been sexually assaulted, is a national resource centre that

  • provides support and guidance for persons who have been sexually assaulted or abused, as well as for their families;
  • influences professional and legal practices, as well as the authorities and the public opinion, in order to reduce and prevent violence against mainly women and girls;
  • provides co-operation, consultation and training for professionals, the authorities, organisations and educational institutions in a variety of fields;
  • supplements public social and health services as well as the official systems in its own special field. 

The all employees are professionals. They have the qualifications required for their tasks, they receive regular occupational guidance and are under the obligation to observe professional secrecy. The therapeutic and legal services of Tukinainen are free of charge for clients.

 

The Tukinainen premises are accessible by wheelchair and have toilet facilities for people with disability.

 

Tukinainen is a registered, non-profit organisation. The Board of Directors is made up of experts who have special qualifications important for the activities of Tukinainen.

 

The activities are primarily financed by the Finnish Slot Machine Association (RAY).
